How To Find A Good Freelance Writer For Your Niche Sites

Okay so I told you in one of my posts that this year I will be outsourcing a lot in order to grow the internet marketing business faster. Well, I have been doing it a lot lately i.e.

ordering large quantities of articles and recently I got a batch of “not so good articles”. The quality of articles was so terrible if it was food I would throw it into the dustbin.I almost gave up on the idea of outsourcing because I always do it better but then problem is I just don’t have much time anymore. So instead of giving up I choose to take it all as a lesson and improve my “eye” to spot a good writer.

There are some few lessons to be learnt here and I thought I’d share them with you.

• It is vital to hire someone who can speak English well. I won’t say someone from an English speaking country because just because you speak English as a first language does not mean you can write well. I mean if it were so then we would all get 100% at school when writing tests on our local languages. A colleague of mine from my home country, Swaziland used to be an English teacher in England (how about that to prove my point).

• It pays to pay: cheap freelancers will give you a cheap product.

• Take customer reviews seriously: never underestimate them. Take some time to read each one of them before you select a freelancer.

• Do not try out a new freelancer without reviews and no previously won projects – especially if it is a large job.

• That prompts me to say that you need to break the job down to about 5 articles per job. Award various freelancers in order to find the perfect one for future, bulky orders. I know this might be a bit expensive but it is worth it – believe me.

• Ask for recommendations from people you trust. Do not just go to bidding sites, it may be that someone you know can refer you to a great writer.

  1. Stunned insights mavicks. I would like to suggest “see some writing format of that freelance writer and if possible then hire from niche industry i.e seo, web design at least they’ll know industry trends..

  2. I don’t think i am a good writer but i will work hard to be one. Thanks for the useful information. Hope to see your new updates soon!

  3. Wow it seems very important to find a good freelance writer. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I found a great writer via Digital Point but also went through a few turkeys. Sadly, though the writing was great, still haven’t seen ROI. But that is not the writer’s fault but mine for not using SEO properly or something. But it is all part of the learning process, I hope.
